The accuracy of Burundi's National Greenhouse Gas Inventory (IGES) is based on the systematic collection of data from national and international sources. These data are rigorously verified and compared to ensure compliance with the IPCC Guidelines 2006.

    Collection methodology

    Burundi favours a participatory approach through:

    • Technical meetings : Direct consultations with data holding institutions.

    • Statistical yearbooks : Use of data from INSBU and sectoral ministries.

    • International platforms : Comparison with FAO (FAOSTAT), UN (UN Stat) and World Bank databases.
